Overview
On February 10, 2025, the U.S. Government announced a global 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports, including a wide array of related products. These tariffs go into effect on March 12, 2025.
Key Provisions
• Tariff Rates: Reinstated 25% tariff on steel imports and an increased tariff on aluminum imports from 10% to 25%.
• Country Exemptions: No country will be exempt.
• Product Exclusions: In general, no products will be exempt.
• Affected Products: Items like steel beams, aluminum parts, fasteners, cables, and window/door frames will be taxed unless made with U.S.-produced steel or aluminum.
